Dr. Maytorena’s Qualifications
Dr. Jorge Maytorena is a graduate of UABC Faculty Of Medicine, General Medicine Practice and performed his residency at the General Hospital of Sonora, specializing in gastric bypass and metabolic surgery courses in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Maytorena has received multiple advanced training and certification in a number of disciplines and obtained Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Training within the Mexican Society of Endoscopic Surgery and at the Mexican College of Metabolic and Obesity Surgery.

He is certified by the Mexican Board of General Surgeons and is also employed as a trauma surgeon at Tijuana Red Cross, as well as being a member of the Mexican Society of Endoscopic Surgery. He received a fellowship in gastric banding by Inamed LapBand.
