The Pearl of the Orient Seas, as the Republic of the Philippines is nicknamed, is a small island country in Southeast Asia situated in the western Pacific Ocean, with a population of about 100 million, this Asian country has a flourishing tourism industry. Medical tourism in the Philippines has a long standing tradition, with foreigners coming to the island nation in search of traditional healers and alternative medicine.
